Photographing the beauty

One of my models I tied up her wrists to a pole and I wanted the concept to be everyday fashion, but it came out as scared confused girl. But I personally LOVE how it turned out!!!

A photograph I loved from my mock portfolio inspired what I would do with the other model. The photo was of a lady with red hair; red mask and it had a strong feeling from it. So my only idea was to use a mask and while I was at a thrift store I saw weird but beautiful cat mask. When I bought the mask is when my entire representation of the shot came alive. Now due to the mask being a cat I wanted my model to have that feline feel. We curled, teased and sprayed that hair till I got my perfect mane. Then we covered her eyes with gold tones and we painted her lips with gold sparkles. I got the shot I envisioned and more.

Teddy Bear Suicide

 

 

In my photo I wanted the teddy bear to signify a forgotten abused child, because when I think of a teddy bears I instantly think child. I wanted the medication and noose to signify the suicide.

Suicide is number 10 on leading causes of death in 2010 and I’m sure the number is still rising..

My photo showed a bear who had been abused and was trying to find the “easy” way out.

I just want to be clear right now that I am not suicidal, or abuse… I really don’t want to have people think I am plotting on ways to show everyone I want to kill myself because truth is out I am not trying to kill myself. I am actually trying to open eyes on how disgusting suicide is and had we need to care about everyone…

Basketball Season

So to start this was the Tec tornadoes first practice and I photographed the scene they created. 

The team ages from the 5^th grade and up but you cant be over the age of 15. So that means the middle school level of kids. Just like any person needs to know you have to “practice to be permanent because there is no such thing as perfect”… (something I had learned from an old high school instructor of mine). The kids being at there first day of practice were excited but worn out at the same time. My detailed shot is what they are practicing for… it’s a basketball team so I felt a photograph of a basketball was perfect. My next shot is of a little girl dribbling, she has been on the team for two years now and she is small but good. 

I actually sat down and asked her if she looks forward to this time of year because of basketball and she said, “yes she loves to play it”. My last photo is of the gym itself with all of the different coaches: the smart tactile coach, the tow drill coaches, and the main coach. Everyone works as a team in the end and even though there small they are good in there own way.

Time fly’s when your having fun… this lady is 78 years old and this is her entertainment. She reads a few novels a week and I swear every time I pay attention to her when she is reading she always has something new. Sally took me in after I moved out of my mom’s and has been basically a grandmother to me. I wanted to create this gif to show the concept that time fly’s when your having fun.

The Walking Goats

Some of you may know that my fiance and I take the goats hiking every year... and people wonder what use are they in the winter time. The answer is that they're basically family, they are fed, cared for, and played with. even over the winter. during this time of year we only give them the best food (grain in a bucket) because we want them to stay strong throughout the winter, so that when summer comes they are ready to hike. the goats have there names... the white one is named eclipse and the one that walks is named Goex (he is licking his lips because he just got some grain).

Building Take Down - by Courtney Lipp

On October 14^th at around noon there was what I believe a big deal on the Spokane Falls Community College. A construction company was destroying and taking away our old administrations building. Now I know that we just built a new building named Falls Gateway, but why were they getting rid of that one.

I asked a worker on the site and he said that they were going to just build something different. I never saw anything wrong with that old building and I don’t understand why they couldn’t just upgrade the building, but I don’t work construction so I wouldn’t be able to understand completely.

 

 Right now this site looks like a giant trash field and is just such an eye sore, so my thought was to photograph it while I have the chance. The workers had no idea that I was photographing them nor did they care, they just wanted to get there job done.
